Human Library's Enable You to Talk to a Stranger for 30 Minutes

Ronni Abergel, the 42 year-old who created the concept, told Today.com;

"Sometimes you see someone in the supermarket and think things about them but you don't dare go ask them questions.  I wanted to build a space where you can ask them anything because they volunteered to answer."

Abergel moved to Connecticut at age 15 as a foreign exchange student and he said the experience gave him a new appreciation for those that were different than him.

"I figured that if we could make people sit down with a group attached to a certain stigma they don't like or even know about for that matter, we could diminish the violence."

You Can Speak to All Walks of Life at Human Library

    If I were to somehow be turned into a real vampire… lol Don’t judge me! One of the many things I would want to do with all my excess time would be to go to school and study and master the shit out of anthropology. Then I would be the only living anthropologist to be able to capture all of man kinds cultures and evolution.
    Is that weird … I guess that kinda makes me really nerdy & twisted huh! lol A vampire going to school to learn more and document everything about their only life source.

    This is an awesome idea! I would truly enjoy this. I love hearing people’s story and their views on life, death and everything in-between.

    In this day riddled with technology human interaction has declined the more linked we all get. I think it’s nice to be able to just have a vocal conversation with a person

    “I figured that if we could make people sit down with a group attached to a certain stigma they don’t like or even know about for that matter, we could diminish the violence.” I think that’s the biggest thing here, people make all kinds of pre judgement and don’t care to change their vision, and that results in hostility towards other social/racial groups. If we take this idea and make it a normal thing, I do believe violence and hate would be diminished.

    I think that this would be a positive thing, getting to know people and maybe sparking up and intelligent conversation with someone, even if it’s only for 30 minutes, the right conversation can make bring out the best in someone
